Welcome!

Hello! My name is Lola Blue Douglas and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and MA in Counselling Psychology student under clinical supervision. Prior to pursuing my masters, I completed a BSc in Clinical Psychology & Sexual Diversity Studies, with a research focus on gender and neurodiversity. My present work is informed by academic and clinical training alongside years of experience in healthcare settings including 2SLGBTQ+ youth crisis counselling settings, mental health organizations, and midwifery.

As a queer, disabled, and neurodivergent therapist, I approach my work through an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens. Grounded in an integrative approach, I draw from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and person-centered, psychodynamic, and humanistic perspectives.

Through my own experiences with mental health challenges, I have developed a deep commitment to supporting individuals in building valuable coping resources and cultivating greater empowerment in their lives. Therapy offers us rare opportunities to embrace vulnerability, honesty, bravery, and introspection — values I uphold throughout our journey together.

Whether you're seeking to address the impact of prior traumas, develop new coping tools, or simply get to know yourself better, I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space where we can foster alignment with your values, needs, and goals; exploring your story at a pace that feels right for you.

I am committed to principles of anti-oppressive practice, meaning that I do my best to work from a lens of intersectional, disability justice focused, anti-diet culture and Health At Every Size, anti-racist, sex-positive, kink-positive, poly-positive, and body-affirmative lens.
